Beaches & Entertainment

With so many winding canals and lagoons, access to swimming and tanning is not a problem in this beach town. All hotels and private properties have access to sandy beaches, and you have the choice of swimming in lagoons or open water.

With countless land and water activities to enjoy, you won’t have time to get bored. After a full day of sun and fun, head out to Al-Gouna’s Downtown area or the Abu Tig Marina where you will find a wide variety of dining and nightlife options.

Beach Clubs

Grab your sunscreen and get ready for seriously cool chilling. Gounies (the town’s residents) make pampered relaxation an artform! Al-Gouna’s numerous beach clubs offer comfortable lounging for suntanning with atmospheric music and beach bars. Swimming pools are also available for floating and splashing around. As day turns to night, many of these places turn into nightclubs, pumping energetic music and hosting themed nights for club-goers to dance the night away.

For a bit of luxury, check out the boutique hotels around town for extra pampering. Private beaches and five-star cuisine provide romantic and secluded afternoons away from the beach clubs.

Outdoor Activities

For those who want a bit of outdoor activity and exercise, Al-Gouna has a range of activities to keep you entertained. Two stunning 18-hole championship golf courses will keep all levels of players swinging all-year round with scenic views of the sea. The rugged mountains beyond town create perfect opportunities for nimble rock climbers looking for a bit of a challenge and exploration.

Zip and zoom around the circuit for some go-karting fun or take aim and drench your opponent in color with a spirited round of paintball. Practice your serve with a game of beach volleyball or tennis at numerous courts and beaches. Explore Al-Gouna by bike, Segway, or scooter, or discover the joy of horseback riding on the beach—ponies are available for your little ones! Desert excursions by sand buggies, quads, or jeeps can be arranged to explore nearby canyons and oases with the Bedouin. Check with your hotel, licensed guide, or authorized travel agency to plan and arrange for desert activities.

Dining & Nightlife

This resort town is packed with a wide variety of fine restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. From beach snacks to gourmet cuisine, there are endless options when it comes to grabbing a bite to eat. Walk around Downtown or Abu Tig Marina to sample over a dozen cuisines, including Vietnamese, Peruvian, Thai, French, Italian, Swiss, Indian, Chinese, Lebanese, fresh Egyptian seafood, and much more.

Bars with extensive cocktail menus are common, and clubs in the Marina have DJs spinning tunes from the late evening until the early hours of the morning. Head to the big hotels for family-fun entertainment in the evening, with karaoke singers and dancers keeping guests entertained.
