The Bibliotheca Alexandrina

Rising from the ashes of its ancient predecessor, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) is an architectural triumph that seamlessly blends contemporary Egyptian culture with the library’s classical Ptolemaic roots. Situated in Al-Shatbi, the academic hub of Alexandria, this reincarnation of the ancient bibliotheca boasts a stunning main library that holds up to eight million books, six smaller specialized libraries, four museums, a planetarium, 12 academic research centers, a conference center that can accommodate thousands of people, 15 permanent exhibitions, and much more.
