Nabq Protectorate

Located just north of Sharm, the Nabq Protectorate covers over 600 sq km of land that is home to a diverse and unique ecosystem, as well as the world’s most northerly mangrove forest. Take a kayak or paddle board to enjoy the unique site of these vast networks of mangrove channels with their astounding roots.

You can also go hiking or cycling undisturbed in this untouched protected area, surrounded by sand dunes and virgin beaches. Nabq is home to rare species of birds, gazelles, Nubian ibexes, and other animals. Be sure to spend the night in one of the camps that offer a low-key, back-to-nature experience in this otherworldly and idyllic sanctuary.


Ras Muhammad National Park

Take a short trip southwest of Sharm al-Sheikh and you’ll find the Ras Muhammad National Park, a place that draws in nature lovers and adventurers from all over the world with its thriving marine life and breathtaking scenery. Many historic wrecks and gorgeous coral reefs line its sea floor, including the Shark Observatory, Anemone city, and Jackfish Alley.

For a more relaxed vibe, take your pick of lounging on the gorgeous Suez, Aqaba, or Old Quay beaches, followed by a night under the stars while being treated to first-class hospitality at one of the Bedouin camps.

The White Island

Take a short boat trip to this spectacular island paradise, nicknamed the “Egyptian Maldives, ” just off the coast of Ras Muhammad. This secluded hotspot only appears when the tide is low, and with all its glittering colors, it’s hard to resist snapping a pic (or several) at this iconic location.

For a more rugged, outdoorsy vibe, plan your own adventure and spend some time at one of the Bedouin camps located within the park to disconnect, find your inner peace, and take in the heavenly skyline for some serious, undisturbed stargazing.

The Enchanted Salt Lake

Make sure you catch a sunset at this magical spot where the water is said to change colors at least seven times a day. Don’t forget to go hunting for shells too: legend has it that if you whisper a secret into a shell and cast it back into the lake, your wishes will come true!

Mangrove Channel and Island

Take in the majesty of the black mangrove tree, which has adapted to the saltiness of the Red Sea and exists in only a few spots on earth this far north. Be sure to explore the island and stay on the lookout for stunning wildlife, including wild camels and beautiful migratory birds.
