The new al-Galala City is a resort town developed on Egypt’s Red Sea coast near al-Ain al-Sukhna and Suez City. The city—which includes a number of resorts and hotels catering to both Egyptians and international tourists looking for a holiday destination near Cairo—is part of the country’s plan to develop new urban communities. When complete, al-Galala will offer several recreational activities and facilities, including cable cars, parks, cinemas, theaters, water parks, a dancing fountain, shopping malls, restaurants and an international yacht marina. An 82-km-long highway connects al-Galala to al-Ain al-Sukhna and the rest of Egypt’s network of roads and highways.
