33rd Citadel International Festival for Music and Singing Opens in Cairo

Cairo, August 15, 2025 – The 33rd Citadel International Festival for Music and Singing has officially launched at the historic Salah El-Din Citadel, marking the start of a nine-day celebration of global music and culture. Organized by the Egyptian Opera House in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the festival brings world-class performances to the iconic open-air theater.

Under the leadership of Dr. Alaa Abdel Salam, this year’s edition features an exciting lineup of local and international artists, blending diverse musical traditions against the stunning backdrop of Cairo’s medieval fortress. Running until August 23, 2025, the event offers audiences a rare fusion of artistic excellence and historical grandeur.
