The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities will be hosting a three-day event entitled “Transcending Eternity: The Centennial Tutankhamun Conference” to celebrate 100 years since the discovery of the world-famous pharaoh’s tomb. Beginning on November 4th in Luxor, the commemorative conference, in partnership with The American Research Center in Egypt, will feature a keynote delivery by renowned Egyptologist and former Minister of Antiquities, Dr. Zahi Hawass. The event will also include presentations by Lord George Carnarvon and Lady Fiona Carnarvon, the descendants of the landmark excavation sponsor, Lord George Herbert the 5th Earl of Carnarvon, who served as a patron to Egyptologist Howard Carter’s historic discovery.
