Kafr al-Sheikh

Kafr al-Sheikh has layers of history as deep as the silt in the Nile’s quiet waterways. Land cultivation, strategic location, and the value of this region’s natural resources have made it a quiet focal point for Egyptian agriculture, economy, and culture for thousands of years.

Kafr al-Sheikh Museum

Since the opening of Kafr al-Sheikh Museum in 2020, it has been a welcomed tourist attraction that includes statues of the falcon god Horus, King Ramesses II with the lioness goddess Sekhmet, and a priest from the 27th Dynasty.


Buto (Tell al-Farain)

The ancient city of Buto (Tell al-Farain) was the ideological capital of Lower Egypt. The modern site, Tell al-Farain, consists of two mounds and the remains of a Proper excavations, starting in the 1960s, revealed houses, workshops, a temple, Graeco-Roman bath complexes, a cemetery, and even a palace from the 1st Dynasty—relics from the dawn of Egyptian history.
